The Entry-Level IT Support Technician will provide first-line technical support to employees across the organisation. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about technology, eager to learn, and ready to build a career in IT. The successful candidate will assist in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues while ensuring that IT systems run smoothly to support the company’s engineering and business operations.
• Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests via phone, email, and ticketing system.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and standard software applications.
• Assist with account setup, password resets, and basic user administration in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other systems.
• Support engineering-specific applications (e.g., CAD, project management tools) under guidance from senior IT staff.
• Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT staff as necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation of support requests, solutions, and system configurations.
• Provide basic training and support to staff on IT tools, security awareness, and best practices.
• Assist with routine IT maintenance tasks, including updates, backups, and asset management.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in IT support.
• Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and common desktop applications.
• Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP) is a plus.
• Strong critical thinking skills with diligence.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work both independently and in a team environment.
